A.P. Open School Society was established as an autonomous company, registered under the Andhra Pradesh Public Societies Act on 20 February 1991, and was inaugurated at Ugadi Day, 17 March 1991. G. O. Mrs. No.50 Edn. (SSE-2) Division, dt: 08.02.1991. It is the first state open school in the country. Many students are educated by Open 10th Schools in a distance mode. The main goal of the establishment of the Open Schools is to create a high quality education for the students, who can not continue their education in the regular mode.
