DTE had invited online applications for the Polytechnic University of Applied Sciences 2017-18 from 15 to 29 May. Admission under the Central Allotment Process (CAP) takes place for regular meetings in governmental polytechnics, state-assisted programs / government seats in self-financing programs, management seats under sponsored programs and under NCC / sports quota.

During the registration window, students were asked to provide a maximum of 25 preferred options (program and institutional combinations). Based on the options registered by the students, the provisional ranking list and the student allocation list were published by DTE on 7th June. The students were also given time until 12 June for the appointment and transmission of revised options. On the basis of the revised options, the final ranking list and the first allocation list for polytechnic approvals are now published.
There are two streams of diploma programs:
Stream 1 - Graduate Engineer / Technology and Engineering
Stream 2 - Diploma in Business Administration / Diploma in Computer Application and Business Administration.

Students should note the deadline for reporting to the assigned college. Failure to do so within the specified time will result in lost seat. If a student is not satisfied with the given option, he or she has two options. First, he / she can wait for the higher option by maintaining the existing allocation. In this case, he must register the higher options by reporting to the Polytechnic Universities and submitting the certificates. The student is considered for the allocation to his / her higher options, while his / her originally allocated seat also remains reserved.
For those students who do not wish to enter the allocated seat, they must report to the Polytechnic College and refuse the existing option. In this case, its current seat will be withdrawn and only higher options for further allocation will be considered. Students should report to the Polytechnic College on or before the last date - 20 June. The second allocation list will be published on 24 June, while the classes for the first semester will take place from 17 July.
